"We too often forget the very people who put us in office when they need us the most. Empathy can't be legislated—it must be lived." - Nathen Mazri
Re-Align The Toronto Grid

Hustle, Culture, & Empathy
Long before analyzing multi-billion dollar industrial systems or publishing peer-reviewed legal scholarship, Nathen Mazri learned the value of a dollar the hard way. Coming from truly humble beginnings in Laval, Montreal, Nathen grew up surrounded by diverse working-class families where nothing was handed down and every win had to be earned through raw entrepreneurial hustle.
Along the way, he became fluent in four languages and traveled to over 40 countries, absorbing different cultures, mastering international financial systems, and studying how global world-class smart cities operate. But through all his travels, his heart remained anchored to one city: Toronto.
Nathen is a true people person—charismatic, quick-witted, and deeply in love with the vibrant energy of our neighborhoods.
Nathen Mazri is an entrepreneur, tech researcher and independent candidate who believes City Hall should create value for the people it serves—not simply manage decline. Nathen attended the University of London's Law programme—an institution attended by leaders such as Nelson Mandela—complementing his background in entrepreneurship, technology, and public policy. Nathen also holds a degree in Business Administration and has built an international career spanning Canada, the Middle East, and the United States in technology, branding, licensing, and consumer products.
Ambition
Throughout his career, Nathen has built brands, negotiated global licensing partnerships and worked at the intersection of business, technology and urban development. He founded the world's first officially licensed Garfield restaurant, GarfieldEATS, working alongside creator Jim Davis and later collaborating on projects involving globally recognized entertainment brands, including Paramount, Nickelodeon and Warner Bros. Before launching his own ventures, Nathen helped expand Canadian brands including Mr. Sub, Jugo Juice and Van Houtte Café into the Gulf region, gaining firsthand experience in international business development, investment attraction and brand growth.
Supply Chain
Working alongside Ontario farmers and national grocery retailers gave Nathen firsthand insight into the Canadian food ecosystem—from farm production and supply chains to retail distribution and consumer pricing. The experience deepened his understanding of the challenges facing agriculture, including rising costs, market regulation, and the importance of competitive, resilient food systems.
System Value Architect
His academic work focuses on the global licensing industry. He developed the concept of Licensing Infrastructure, proposing a more connected framework for the fragmented $369 billion global licensing ecosystem. Nathen is a technology entrepreneur and Founder of eGeez, an AI-powered licensing and official merchandise infrastructure platform.
Egeez is a modern operational framework that global regulatory giants like CIPO, the USPTO, and WIPO continuously lack and desperately need to secure international licensing chains. By successfully mapping out automated validation solutions where massive government registries still rely on slow, manual human checks, Mazri is bringing that exact same world-class structural discipline straight to the City of Toronto.
His research has been published in a respected peer-reviewed journal of the Licensing Executives Society in the United States.
Author
Nathen is also a two-time author. His debut book, Arabiolosis, was released in more than 500 bookstores worldwide alongside audiobook and e-book editions, exploring identity, cultural conflict, resilience, and overcoming adversity. His latest successful e-book, Ataraxia, argues that the world needs less happiness and more lasting inner calm, drawing inspiration from philosophy and religious traditions.
Through hundreds of media appearances and a very large online community built over more than a decade, he has developed a reputation for challenging conventional thinking while encouraging constructive dialogue.
Running for Parliament changed how Nathen thinks about public service.
Nathen previously ran federally alongside Maxime Bernier, a former federal cabinet minister under Prime Minister Stephen Harper. The experience broadened his understanding of public policy and ultimately reinforced his decision to serve as an independent. He believes Toronto deserves practical solutions, not partisan labels. Good ideas have no political side—if they work, they work. Every party has strengths and weaknesses, but Nathen believes public office should be measured by results, not ideology. His loyalty is not to a party; it is to the people of Toronto.
Nathen says: "My loyalty is to the Torontonians I serve, and always has been, not to a party whip. I don't believe good ideas belong to the left or the right. I believe they belong to the people. My job is to listen carefully, think clearly, govern fairly and always stay aligned with the residents I serve."
Rather than viewing leadership through a political lens, Nathen describes himself as a Chief Value Officer—someone whose responsibility is to maximize value for residents, taxpayers and future generations. His philosophy, ALIGN., rejects ideological politics in favour of practical solutions, measurable outcomes and respectful debate.
Nathen Mazri isn't a career politician or a bureaucrat. He is a Systems Architect. He is deploying that exact same elite corporate tech execution to crack down on City Hall's loopholes, delete tech waste, and protect your wallet.
Beyond Ward 1
Nathen has developed a long-term vision for Toronto through Toronto OS—a comprehensive governance framework featuring eight policy pillars, eight Executive Directives, and initiatives including the Toronto Future Fund. Together, these proposals aim to build a smarter, more prosperous, and more accountable city. While his immediate focus is serving the residents of Etobicoke North, he intends to continue advancing this vision and is considering a campaign for Mayor of Toronto in 2030.
Rejecting the Raise. The 24% Promise
Mazri has also pledged to voluntarily decline the financial benefit of Toronto City Council's recent 24% pay increase, redirecting its equivalent into a transparent Ward 1 Community Fund. Through quarterly Community Entergagement Forums, residents—not politicians—will help decide how the funds are invested, with every contribution publicly disclosed through an online Transparency Ledger.
The Last Word
"I know what it means to grind from the bottom and watch a dream slip away. But static alignment does not build miracles—motion does. Do something. Energy and absolute mobility destroy low vibrations and stagnant minds. We must restore unshakeable hope in each other. Give a hand, extend a chance, and watch the system align." - Nathen Mazri

Community & Giving Back

Long before entering public life, Nathen Mazri believed that leadership begins with service.
Throughout his entrepreneurial career, he has supported numerous charitable and community initiatives. His franchise, GarfieldEATS organized fundraising auctions for The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids), donated approximately 60 kilograms of fresh officially licensed Garfield lasagna every two weeks to Youth Without Shelter in Etobicoke to help young people facing homelessness, and regularly provided meals to vulnerable women and mothers through Sistering on Bloor Street West.
For Nathen, giving back has never been about recognition—it is about responsibility.
"Money is not meant to be accumulated. It is a tool entrusted to us. In the end, our character is measured not by how much we earn, but by how much good we choose to do with what we've been given."
— Nathen Mazri
These experiences shaped Nathen's belief that homelessness cannot be solved by simply moving people from one sidewalk to another. Lasting change requires compassion, accountability, mental health support, pathways to employment, and reintegration into society with dignity.
His vision for Etobicoke North is a community where economic opportunity and human compassion go hand in hand—because the strongest cities are measured not only by their skylines, but by how they care for those most in need.
